Where can I get my marriage license?

To legally get married in Richmond, Virginia, couples must obtain a marriage license from a Virginia Circuit Court Clerk's Office.

Richmond City Clerk's office is by appointment only, while Henrico and Chesterfield County Clerks offices are first-come, first-served. The license is valid 60 days from the issue date, and you have five business days from the signed date to return the license.

Can we do a "first look" as I walk down the aisle at Lucky in Love?

At Lucky in Love, we want your day to be perfect! While a "first look" down the aisle isn't something we can accommodate, we encourage you to plan a wonderful reveal with your photographer beforehand.

Many of our couples in Richmond have captured stunning first look moments at their hotel or in the picturesque area outside our chapel, creating cherished memories before even stepping inside.

Can we bring alcohol or food to the Chapel?

To preserve the elegance and timeless beauty of our vintage chapel, we kindly ask that no outside food, beverages, or alcohol be brought into the chapel at any time.

This ensures the space remains pristine and welcoming for every couple’s special day. We appreciate your understanding and cooperation.

Can I bring a cake?

Great question - who doesn't want cake?! The cake we provide (as part of your Jackpot package or as an add-on to the Picture Perfect package) is made by phenomenal local bakeries that do an amazing job every.single.time.

When it comes to outside cakes and snacks, we ask that you get approval from our team before bringing any outside food into the chapel. During our one-week out call with our couples, please discuss this detail with us.

To help preserve the vintage pieces and delicate décor of our chapel, we kindly ask that guests not eat the cake on-site. Our LIL team will carefully box up the remaining cake so guests can take it home and enjoy it after the celebration. Thank you for helping us protect the charm and history of our space!

Can I bring my own bouquet?

Couples are welcome to bring their personal bouquet and boutonniere. Please note that outside altar arrangements must be approved by Lucky In Love.

If you’d prefer to leave florals in professional hands, we have trusted floral vendors who can take care of everything for you.

Can we have a vow renewal here?

Yes, absolutely—you can say "I still do!" at our chapel! Whether it’s your 1st anniversary or your 50th, we’d be honored to host your vow renewal in true vintage chapel style. Love never goes out of fashion, and neither does a heartfelt “again.”

Are tours available?

Due to the intimate size of our chapel, we do not offer interior tours. However, the space is visible through the windows for your convenience.

What’s the music like?

We keep it simple yet customizable! Our chapel is equipped with an iPad connected to a speaker system.

When you book with Lucky in Love, you will be sent a wedding day questionnaire with an easy way to tell us what songs you’d like played on your big day. Whether it’s classic romance or your favorite love ballad, the soundtrack is up to you.

Can I bring my own decor?

To maintain the charm and integrity of our vintage chapel, outside decor is not permitted. We’ve thoughtfully designed the space with timeless details to create a beautiful backdrop for your ceremony.

Do you offer LGBTQIA+ weddings?

Absolutely—love is love, and all are welcome here. We are proud to celebrate and honor couples of all identities, and it would be our joy to be part of your special day!

Can I bring my kids?

Yes, children are welcome! We love seeing families celebrate together. We just ask that little ones remain supervised at all times to help preserve the peaceful atmosphere of the chapel.

Our Chapel is located at 402 E Grace St, Richmond, Virginia 23219, and we are by appointment only. Same-day appointments are available! Just give us a call at 804-605-1277.

Where can I park?

You can find street parking, or we recommend parking in the SP+ Parking lot located at 429 E Broad St, Richmond, VA 23219. It is a 1-2 minute walk to Lucky In Love Chapel.

Is there a bridal suite or a place where I can get ready?

We do not offer a bridal suite or getting-ready area at the chapel; we recommend arriving fully dressed and ready to go for your ceremony. This helps us keep everything running smoothly and on time.

All couples must check in together, dressed and ready to go, with your Marriage License at least 15 minutes before your ceremony time.

Can we bring our own photographer?

Guests are welcome to bring their own photographer to capture the special moments of your ceremony.

Lucky In Love Chapel offers professional photography with both the “Perfect Picture Couple” and “Jackpot” packages. These professionals are familiar with our chapel’s unique lighting, layout, and vintage charm, ensuring the best possible experience and images.

Is Lucky In Love Chapel wheelchair accessible?

Can we have a wedding party (bridesmaids, groomsmen, etc.)?

Yes, couples are welcome to include bridesmaids, groomsmen, or any members of their wedding party! Please keep in mind that our chapel is intimate in size, so we recommend keeping your party small to ensure everyone is comfortable and the ceremony flows smoothly.

Can we bring our own officiant?

Yes, you’re welcome to have your own officiant perform the ceremony at Lucky in Love Chapel. Please note that this does require an additional 30 minutes of chapel time, which is $250.
